Well we are here now and dont you guys worry...we are safe in the hands of an Indian man named Ram. He is our driver...who is brilliant...he has taken us from Delhi to Agra to Ranthambor (which is where we are now). We are going to be in Jaipur tomorrow for a few days and then to Pushkar for a night and then to Udaipur. Then we will fly to Mumbai to see Nish and her family for the wedding. We cannot wait. We are loving everything about this place already.
We arrived in Delhi at 2 in the morning on the 2nd and finally got to our hotel at about 5 am. The place was so friggen scary and the men at the aiport pretended to be porters by coming over to our cab at the airport picking up our bags from the ground and then putting them in the car and then proceeded to ask us for money...we did not know what to do and pretty much jumped in the car and closed the door.
Our hotel might as well have been outside in a tent with our headboard all smashed in...cigarette burns in the blanket in which about 85 years of dust appeared when we got in it...there was a bucket for a shower and the ceiling fan was about to decapitate us in our sleep. It was brilliant. The next morning we met a random man at our hotel reception and he asked us what we were doing..we told him that we need to find to train and he took us to a travel agency...
What ended up happening was we told the guy there where we were planning on going and what we were planning on doing...He then took our plan...added one place...and a driver named ram and charged us 220 pounds (sorry no pound sign)/ $324 for our trip. We were quite worried and told the man that we didnt know if he was ripping us off and he said no....so we took it...we kinda need to work on that.
What has ended up happening is that we couldnt be happier and we are loving every last minute of this trip. We have been here for about 3 days total and feel like we have been here forever...Ram has shown us so many places and faces we dont know how to retain all the info. We have seen temples, The Taj Mahal, towns full of people, and we have been on a safari. I wont list all of them because that is just boring, and will make you cringe like i have been making ange and gill for the past few days! (that was ange...I am wayyyy cooler than that) (Ange; Cringe)
India is a mental place but it is so cool...you can totally see how it is possible for 1 billion people to live in one place...there are people who literally walk in crowds on the expressways, highways, streets...there are people in cars, 3 wheeled cars, being pulled by camels, oxen, and horses, on bikes and motorcycles. We saw a crash the other day that involved two trucks and a camel which was dead in the middle of the road. It's head looked mutilated.
So sorry about how boring this is...we would rather be boring than cringy...
Pictures are to come soon...this computer is not really what one would call fast. It's run on camels and oxen.
Sorry little A told me that I cannot ever be a comedic writer... I do try
We do apologise for poor quality and interest within this blog...I promise either gill or I will write further blogs, and we shall put it down to the fact that Ros may be a little tired! She also fancies the pants off our driver who is sitting behind us so I imagine it must be fairly difficult for her to concentrate. We are drinking with him tonight infact....mostly through persuasian from Ros...uh oh!!! Mother of.....I know, right!!?!(we are trying to de-americanise Ros as these overly-used phrases are annoying us already!)
little A and little G are already in complete competition to win everything and oh it is so grand...I have not been able to win anything yet!!!
We love and miss you all
xoxo
